MORDEN, MB – On December 15th, 2017, the Conservative Party of Canada’s nomination period ended for all of the ridings currently held by Conservative Members of Parliament. Candice Bergen, the Conservative House Leader and MP for Portage-Lisgar, was acclaimed confirming that she will be the party’s candidate once again in 2019.

"For the past nine years it has been my honour to represent the people of Portage-Lisgar in Ottawa, and work hard for them here at home,” said MP Bergen. "The 2019 election is right around the corner, and my Conservative colleagues and I will continue to work hard holding the Liberal Government accountable for their actions.”

The Liberal Government recently passed the halfway point in their mandate, with the next General Election scheduled for October 21st, 2019.

"Canadians are growing tired of how out of touch and hypocritical the Liberals have become,” said Bergen. "I am looking forward to working alongside our Leader, Andrew Scheer, and all of my Conservative colleagues to share our positive conservative vision with Canadians, and offer a true alternative to Justin Trudeau’s ethical scandals and out of control spending in 2019.”
