MP Bergen Marks End of 2016 Parliamentary Sitting

Ottawa, ON – Today, MP Candice Bergen marked the House of Commons rising for the end of the Parliamentary sitting.

"2016 has been a mixed year.  As for positives, I was honoured to be appointed as Opposition House Leader. Our Conservative Team has had a strong, successful 2016 standing up for Canadian taxpayers” said Candice Bergen. "But there have also been negatives. Jobs are down.  The economy is in rough shape. And the Liberals are eying a big carbon tax grab for the New Year.”

When the Conservative National Caucus met in the fall, the focus for this session was set to be the voice of the taxpayer. Going forward, Conservatives will continue to hold Justin Trudeau accountable for raising taxes, introducing policies that have stalled job growth and his questionable ethics.

"We have reason to be optimistic for 2017. Our Conservative Party is strong, and we are consistently out-fundraising other parties. We will be in great shape to take on the Liberals in 2019 and win” concluded Bergen.
