Manitoba once again all but forgotten
Ottawa, ON – On Wednesday, Finance Minister Bill Morneau presented the Liberal Government’s 2017 Budget, continuing their troublesome pattern of increasing taxes for the middle class and small businesses.
"This new budget is the Liberal’s way of trying to squeeze every last cent they can out of average Canadians,” said MP Bergen. "Justin Trudeau is rolling back tax credits and nickel and diming Canadians in order to keep his gravy train going.”
The 2017 Budget is projecting a $23 billion deficit in 2016/2017, and a $28.5 billion deficit the following year. The Liberals plan to spend outrageous sums that Canadians don’t have, mortgaging their children’s future with no guarantee that there will be any benefit.
"The Liberals budget has completely ignored the needs of Manitobans,” said Bergen. "Meanwhile, there is nothing for rural infrastructure, nothing for aerospace, and farmers can expect their insurance premiums to increase because of Liberal tax increases.”
Budget 2017 proves that Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Government’s priorities are not the priorities of ordinary hard-working Canadians.
