Quebec City, QC – Candice Bergen, Member of Parliament for Portage-Lisgar and the Official Opposition House Leader spent the last few days with her Conservative colleagues in Quebec City. The Caucus met to discuss their priorities and how to continue to hold the Liberal Government to account heading into the upcoming session of Parliament.

"It was great to gather as a caucus for the first time in 2017. We had a number of very productive conversations, planning sessions and updates from our Critics,” said Bergen. "We have a very important role to play, and next week we will return to Ottawa as a strong, united, and focused Official Opposition.”

The Liberal Government, who has been plagued with a number of ethics scandals since taking office, has seen virtually no economic stimulus from their massive deficit spending. Despite racking up massive debt, full-time job growth has stalled since the 2015 election. Out of all the infrastructure projects announced by the Liberal Government in the past year, only 4% of them have begun construction.

"We will continue to hold the Government to account for their misguided and risky economic plans, and ensure that we are the voice of the taxpayer,” stated MP Bergen. "As Conservatives and Canadian taxpayers we oppose the Liberals out of control spending.”
