Parliament Tours

My Ottawa office has access to a limited number of passes to the visitors' gallery in the House of Commons. If you would like to see Question Period or watch the regular debate in the House, please contact my Parliament Hill office at 613-995-9511.

You are also welcome to e-mail us your request. Passes are limited in number, and distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Visiting the buildings and grounds of Parliament Hill is rewarding. As a site of architectural beauty, historical significance and federal decision-making, the Hill belongs not only to those who work here, but to all Canadians.

What you should know before you arrive:
  • Parking: There is no parking available on Parliament Hill. Numerous public and municipal parking lots (offsite link) are located nearby.
  • Vehicles on the Hill: Only authorized vehicles are permitted on Parliament Hill.
  • Security: All visitors to the Parliament Buildings are required to go through security scanning stations. Line-ups are to be expected, so we recommend that you allow extra time.
  • Accessibility and Special Needs: All facilities are wheelchair accessible, and we make every effort to accommodate visitors with special needs. For more information or to request sign language interpretation services, please contact the reservations office at 613-996-0896
  • Cost: All tours and programs are FREE of charge.
  • Tour Tickets: Individuals and groups of fewer than 10 people can get same-day tickets beginning at 9 a.m. daily. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the number of tickets available each day is limited. Tour availability cannot be guaranteed on any given day
  • Tour Reservations: You are ONLY required to make reservations for groups of more than 10 people. Refer to Group Reservations for more information. Groups of less than 10 people cannot reserve tickets.
  • Tour Length: Tour length varies between 20 and 60 minutes depending on parliamentary activity.
  • Tour Schedules: Tour times, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice. Accordingly, no specific tour departure times are listed. Please see Visitor News for the latest tour and program updates.
  • Souvenirs: The Parliament Hill Boutique offers a wide variety of souvenirs for purchase. Visit us onsite in the Centre Block or online.

Where you should go when you arrive
Go to the Visitor Welcome Centre at the base of the Peace Tower. Use the map of Parliament Hill to confirm entrance and ticket locations.
